“… where the Lord Jesus is not confessed as God incarnate, crucified, risen, reigning and returning, and where there is no focus on the personal knowledge of Christ crucified, there is no Christianity.”(J.I. Packer)
The intention of this blog is to equip families with an easy source to discern what Adventures in Missions, based out of Gainesville, GA and The World Race , (a $17,000+, 11 month, 11 country mission trip) is teaching our young people. Because of the far reaching influence (100,000 missionaries and counting) we felt compelled to show what is actually being taught, since the “what we believe” statement doesn’t immediately cause obvious concern.
Seth Barnes is the Executive Director and founded Adventures in Missions in 1989 . “He worked out of his garage to lead nearly 1,000 youth to the mission field over the next three years.” “Since we (AIM) were established in 1989, we have taken over 100,000 people into the mission field.” In 2005 “The World Race began…”
On this blog, we will let founder, Seth Barnes, and more importantly God’s Word, speak for themselves as we seek to discern if they are in alignment.
We want to warn those considering supporting or joining the World Race to pray and be discerning Bereans.(Acts 17:11)
What has on the surface a “Christian facade” is steeped in mysticism and less than Biblical teachings and practice. Our family has first hand experience with the deception and error, we hope to help other families in making wise decisions.
“For there are many who are insubordinate, empty talkers and deceivers…They must be silenced, since they are upsetting whole families by teaching for shameful gain what they ought not to teach.” Titus 1:10-11
Jude 3 says, “…I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.”
